The Winter '23 Plenary

Twice per year CavanPPN opens its doors to the member community groups that make up the PPN. This is called a 'Plenary' and is a way for members to review and input into their PPN. This season we partnered with Cavan Volunteer Centre and Cavan Disability Network and the theme was 'Celebrating Community Volunteers'. With great and engaging guest speakers, diverse entertainment, raffles, awards, showcases, workshops and more, it was a great day. Many thanks to our co-host partners for all their hard work, the secretariat for supporting. The community volunteers who attended are owed great thanks, without your work our communities wouldn't be nice. Thanks to Cavan County Local Development and Cavan County Council and The Department of Rural and Community Development for their support over the last 10 years.

The CavanPPN Autumn '22 West Cavan Community Site Visits

CavanPPN hosted over 30 people from a variety of community groups and social partners on a tour of West Cavan community sites to share in and celebrate the richness of community spirit in our county.

Starting at the ancient Drumlane Abbey, we moved then to the local community gardens where they are growing  vegies as well as kindness among all.
Onto Jampa Ling Buddhist community in Bawnboy for a calm and serene meditation from their wonderful host Lobsang. Then after dinner we were treated to a double community helping of Railway heritage and Men's Sheds in Belturbet to finish off in the beautiful ruins of The Old Rath in Killeshandra and met with some truly wonderful community volunteers there.

We will be doing more Daytrips next year so if you would like to attend these or host our members to visit your group do let us know on cavanppn@gmail.com

Sing For Me '22

An absolutely fantastic event at SingForMe tis June in honour of Eden, where the PPN brought various member groups to roadshow their mental health and well-being supports to the public. Our PPN Welbeing Statement was also launched by Secretariat Members Rafaela and Leanne. Well done to the organisers, the groups attending, the musicians and the people who came to show their support for a great cause. Remember to look after yourself and one another!
