Cavan Connects Innovation Conference 2026

Location: Townhall Cavan, Cavan Town

Date: Wednesday, May 27

Time: 10 AM - 4 PM

Designed to inspire producers and creatives and encourage collaboration across sectors through a strong focus on practical application. The event will bring together innovators, community stakeholders and business leaders to explore how emerging technologies are shaping the future of enterprise and opportunity across the region.

We are delighted that Minister Niamh Smyth, Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation, will officially open the event at 10:00 a.m. (until 11:00 a.m.)

Throughout the day, we will have:

  • A dedicated networking space for organisations, solution providers and community partners

  • Fabrication and Multimedia FabLab (DS3 Project) workshops showcasing practical, hands-on applications

  • AI, Robotics, VR/AR/XR and Digital Transformation Workshops

  • A café area to support informal conversations and one-to-one discussions

  • Lunch and light refreshments provided for all registered participants

We’ve also reserved a Business Zone for sessions focused on IoT (the Internet of Things), Digital Twins and robotics. We will also be joined by speakers from Abbott, Netmore, and Quotesforit (Winner "Best in Digital" at Cavan Enterprise Awards), who will share practical insights on connected health innovation, large‑scale IoT connectivity, and digital platforms for industry.

The theme, Innovation for Sustainable Communities, reflects the conference’s wider ambition to show how digital progress and new ideas can benefit everyone, regardless of location or background.

A project supported by the PEACEPLUS Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

Free upcoming Energy Event in Cavan

This practical session is focused on helping households, community groups, and organisations better understand how to reduce energy costs through advice, funding supports, insights, and real-life examples. We’re hosting this event in partnership with SEAI and the local Sustainable Energy Community (SEC), with a focus on helping community organisations understand the funding and support available for energy upgrades, as well as practical ways to reduce energy costs and improve facilities.

We’re expecting a mix of household individuals and community organisations. Following the speakers who are listed below we will have a Q&A; there will be around 30–40 minutes after then for refreshments and networking.

Speakers:

  • Eugene Conlon – MC

  • Mel Gavin – SEC Mentor

  • John Flynn – SEAI

  • Fergus McCann – SE Systems

  • Permanent TSB Representative – Green Loans

Registration numbers are extremely important for planning the event and ensuring we can accommodate everyone attending, so please encourage anyone interested to register in advance using the link below:
